App Functionality

In August 2019, Google announced that it would be shutting down Hire in September 2020, instead choosing to focus on “other products in the Google Cloud portfolio”. It includes unlimited storage and support for individual files up to 5 TB in size in addition to full encryption.
The data is unencrypted and reencrypted with 128-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) when it reaches Google. As of 2025, Google Drive offers 15 gigabytes (GB) of free storage that’s shared by Drive, Gmail and Google Photos. Google Drive’s search feature can filter results by keyword, item name, file type, date modified or owner.
The three access levels offered are “can edit”, “can comment” and “can view”. Files and folders can also be made betico “public on the web”, which means that they can be indexed by search engines and thus can be found and accessed by anyone. This generates a secret URL for the file, which may be shared via email or private messages. Google Drive incorporates a system of file sharing in which the creator of a file or folder is, by default, its owner.
